Our Practice and Philosophy

Moss and Murphy is a small, privately-held law firm that was founded in 1969. Our firm has two principals, Glen L. Moss and Ann Marcia Murphy, both of whom are licensed and practicing attorneys.

Our practice is generalist in nature, and focuses on helping individuals and small businesses with a broad range of legal issues.  We are capable of working on both simple cases – such as routine probate and trust agreements – and complex ones – as in resolving consumer conflicts, or representing clients before government agencies such as the IRS or the Worker’s Compensation Appeal Board.  In short, we are a “primary care” legal provider to individuals and small businesses.

Litigation can be an extremely bitter, time consuming and expensive process – and yield unpredictable results. Therefore, our philosophy is to work to minimize conflicts instead of enlarging them.  We attempt to find common ground where we can resolve disputes thorough discussion, negotiation, mediation or arbitration.  However, when these methods fail and serious principles are at stake, we will not hesitate to pursue our clients’ claims in the court system.

Furthermore, we strive to keep our clients well-informed at all times so that they can actively participate and make intelligent decisions about the resolution of their situations. We view ourselves as legal experts hired to represent our clients.  We work for them, not vice versa.
